The Allen County 9/11 Memorial

In the timeline of history, there are few dates with more meaning to Americans than September 11, 2001.

That was the day that terrorists killed 2,977 innocent people at the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

As time marches forward, the events and consequences of that day cannot be allowed to fade into obscurity. This is a task that we will address with a new and significant educational project and monument to heros, heroism and patriotism. In addition to the imposing structure itself, we will work with school systems to keep the facts of 9/11 for students of today who were not even born in 2001.

A group of citizens and community leaders have formed the Shawnee Township 9/11 Memorial Foundation to raise awareness of 9/11 topics and raise funds for the monument and education projects. Learn more about how you can contribute, participate and support this worthy endeavor.
